What Technique Do You Use?

I was just wondering what technique every one uses when they go out to drift on the track.
Usually when I'm out drifting, i would normally Feint or as Errol says it, Scandinavian Flick and possibly use the hand break as well. If it its wet i would either Power Over or slam second gear. I'm sure if i had a more powerful car i would probably just stick to the Scandinavian Flick. I do remember last time i went to the track i used the brakes a little for SOME of the corners, however they're not set up for drifting so it wasn't the most successful ending, lol.
So far the the techniques i am aware of are:
- Feint (Scandinavian Flick)
- Hand Break
- Power Over
- Brake
I'm sure i know the other techniques i just don't remember the names.

Understeer, is when you hit the wall with the front of the car. Oversteer, is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car
Horsepower, is how fast you hit the wall, Torque, is how far you take the wall with you.

drop drift
jump drift
lift off
shift lock
clutch kicking
manji(if ud call it a technique?)
speed slipping
my skids r usually clutch initiated wether its a flat shift up or a kick or just shift lock. dun like scandos much they wreck my line. atmo my brakes suck so iv used the handbrake to scrub off speed wen im goin in too hot but i wanna give brake drifting a try

There's lots of ways you can do this all right. Handbraking is the easiest so the first thing I want you to do, I want you to rip that E-Brake all right. After you rip that E-Brake then I want you to power over.
^^ Thanks Twinkie

I normally scandi flick into the corner. (works due to mass body roll due to soft springs). And its an auto so using handbrake isnt the best idea

hahaha i iv got... (well kinda got (long story)) an AUTO s13... yep a fn auto grrr, so i got my own Techniques lol the best 1 is:
just b4 the corner put it in nuturel, full throttle, 7700rpm, then in to 1st!!! like a clutch kick but takes 8 seconds 2 do. lol
or go too fast at the corner then just b4 it, slam the brakes n lock all 4 wheels up!!!
scary and fun at the same time
and 4 low speed drifts/180 u turns: at 60kph b4 the corner slam it in to 1st, but dont touch the accelerator pedal till the revs r low or the back wheels wont loss grip n ull under steer. n check ur speed to cuz if ur go'n over 60kph it wont engage 1st n ull under steer too.
oh, n if im drift'n 2 or more corners. i gotta use the wait of the car... i think its called kinetic drift'n
i cant wait till i fix my car n get a Manual gearbox

i hate auto with a P A S S I O N!!!
1.Lets ppl who cant drive get a licence 2.U lose power 3.Gear ratios r way to long 4.Doesnt do what u tell it to do 5.Lags when u change gears ur self 6.Its heavier 7.Cant heel n toe em properly 8.Cant push start em 9.Uses more fuel 10.Looks like crap. 11.Cant dino em properly cuz they keep drop'n back a gear. depends on the car.... my sky is generally, too much power, foot on gas, back lets go, drive through it
.... easy to get out of line... hard to keep it in control... look at the other nioght and the wall at the on ramp...
low power.... come in hot... drive through it.....
i cant be assed talking full technique cause it's something shown not told... drive it dont talk it

handbrake isnt a techneque it's a quick way of increasing angle....
scando flick is always useful... derived from rally
clutch kicks work well....

not from me u dont....
and all the video game terms come from the original techniques which are good for basic explaining but need to be modified and combined to suit each driver's style seperately....
good place to get the basics on the styles and names is the drift bible.... once again a good basic to begin with but ppl will always need to do what suits them best and keep safe and within their limits.
