Ok so I dont own a car to take to willowbank an see how fast it is (the hq would prob do ok on the back of a tow truck tho... seein as its so light Tongue).

But... has anyone on here taken their car down the 1/4? And what times did you get.. what tyres did  you use... and DID YOU DO A FULLY SICK BURN OUT?

nah but i reckon itd be alrite fun to do for a laugh. hey mel u reckon drag is more about the car or the driver? also theres an article in fast fours on how to improve ur times down the quater so when i dig em up il post it up in here too.

Well the way I see it.. even if the car has done a 10 sec pass with someone that really knows what they are doing driving.. if an amatuer gets into the car and their launch is crap, response time is crap and they miss a gear or two.. obviously the car wont be used to its full potential..

so I guess what I am saying is.. you can have a worked car but if you dont know how to drive it.. then its pretty pointless.. my opinion anyway

Pretty much its where you take your car down the quarter but your not exactly racing anyone... there are no prizes. After you find out your times you can probably tune it a bit and take it back and see how you go again..

yep u just run beside another car so u can grudge match a mate but it's just to get times and practice... and u can tinker out the back between runs

Id be keen to bring the corona down to see what it would get on a 1/4...
Stock as a rock, ill race any other celica's that might be there. I might get a 17sec 1/4 ? maybe  Smiley

Ive taken the old girl down a couple of times, i could only manage 14.5 @99mph(160kph)
shocking reaction times,too much wheel spin in 1st an 2nd so i lost about 1.5 seconds on that, but killed the v8 commonwhore ute that was next to me!!!

I remember seeing a TV episode of some car show, and they completely stripped the fuck out of a Corona Wagon, they ripped the roof off, basically everything except for what made it move/steer. Left the drivers seat in it than replaced with a milk crate, and only than it pulled something like a 17second pass
