Ok so my project car is a 1972 HQ wagon. My first car was a hilux (little 1.8L grinner) which I swapped my brother for his jag with a 350 chev engine in it.

The jag used to belong to my dad a looooooooooong time ago and has not been driven. It is now pretty much an expensive engine holder really. Has a lot of rust.

In the (hopefully) not so distand future I am hoping to bring the engine home (as its at my uncles place on the sunny coast) and start pulling it apart and checking that nothing has seized and everything internally is okie dokie.

When my dad got the engine put in he got a few things done to it but I have no idea what.. so it will be interesting to see what the go is.

Who here has a v8 (old school.. new school... stock... worked off its nutts) ??

Or even if you want one.. or had one Smiley

Just so you know, this thread was more aimed at V8 Super Cars.. might need to change the title, but yea. This still does kind of fit in i guess. Anyways, I'm not an entirely large fan of V8's but i do love the sound they produce! I own a stock NA 3L V6 though.. which thrashed a 185 or whatever there called Kingswood Ute. Hehe.

i go for what ever goes fast. v8 or 4 cyl turbo. Either way I will tinker with it.

I would love to put a lexus v8 and twin turbo it into the cressida but i dont have 10000 to do it so 1j will do for now.

I may like turbo's but my favorite car is a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T with a 426 Hemi

I've got a V8 Cheesy

I love my Holden 304 to pieces. I've got way way too many plans for it though. Engine wise $20,000 should cover it, but then I've got to do the entire drive- line to cope with it, suspension, brakes etc.

V8's just don't do it for me hey. Don't get me wrong, I respect that they put out a shit load of power. But I like sleek little cars with flowing lines etc., not big chunky "get the fuck out of my way or I will destroy you" muscle cars. Plus I hate the warbling throbbing noise they make while they idle. I like purrrr.

But that's just me. I don't see me ever owning a V8 TBH.
