as some know my new car was broken into  Cry

so now instead of replacing the lock (which could get smacked in again)
i have decided to shave the boot lock out completely to prevent my shit from being stolen again...

so any ideas on how to get this done please fire away..

btw my car is a mitsubishi mirage...

forgot how the lock is on those but pretty easy cut and shut!!!! lol

yeh my friend had a look at the damage caused and said it would be pretty easy so is doing it for me saturday, then just need to paint the thing....

oh well aslong as the hole is gone hahaha its currently covered with red electrical tape (its a white car) so kinda stands out hahahaha good times

take lock out... plate behind it... fill hole with some form of filler, eg. reofil or regular car filler... sand smooth.... paint....

that is if it is in metal Smiley

how thick should the plate be and also how would u reccomend holding it there, welding is sort of out of the question

If you cant weld it I would use a metal bond glue or something similar. Plate doesnt need to be thick.

plate should only be as thick as usual pannel steel is... and i personally was thinking of brasing my ariel and wiper holes in then grinding smooth with a feather wheel and light fill over with regular automotive filler... the smaller badge holes i was just gonna braise fil and once again file smooth, prolly won't need to fill over these tho....

sounds like i should do a step by step with pics for ppl here.... might get onto that soon then Smiley
