Mounts fail. Need money for custom mounts. In the meantime I need my car back. I'm dropping an 18LE in to get it on the road. That's the standard engine for those not in the know. Should be done about a week after I find the engine.

New 18LE is in and running. Lots of work to get it there but it's all done. Got a roadworthy done and have filled out my rego papers, now I've just gotta get the exhaust clean of oil sludge from when the last one blew up and work out why the passenger side driveshaft is leaking gearbox oil, and I can drive it down the DOT and get it registered.

Yarp, registered and driving.

Got a problem with idle dropping as I come to a stop, I think it's either the alternator, or the slack in the throttle cable causing it. Also there's something loose in the front-right wheel; I suspect a brake pad or anti-rattle shim, but I'll have a look tonight and see what's what. There's a sticky thermostat issue too (it's not opening until like 125C°, but I'll just cut the spring so it's open all the time and she should be apples Wink. Cut spring yo!

Ripped the thermostat off the housing (they're supplied as a single whole unit for the 18LE) and that's good. Turns out the wheel problem is bearings. Also the driveshaft and the nut are both badly burred, and as a new shaft will cost less than getting it re-threaded, I'll just find one with some decent condition CV's at the wreckers on Saturday then put that in.

Win.

I should get to drive it for about a day before I go on holidays for a few weeks. Fuck the world.

Have a wheel off the N14 at HQ but still need a driveshaft. Need a partner at the wreckers to brake while I remove wheel nut. Spent an hour trying all sorts of stupid shit to get one off by myself lol. Suffice to say there was no success :/
